We are seeking compassionate nursing support to provide feeding therapy, assistive equipment, and guidance for our family to address our child’s nutritional needs and promote their growth and development.

Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our caregiving team on a contractual basis, with a focus on providing specialized care for our child living with cerebral palsy. This role involves feeding therapy, coordination of adaptive equipment, and offering support and education to our family to help our child thrive.

Responsibilities:

Feeding Therapy: Provide specialized feeding therapy techniques and interventions to address our child’s feeding difficulties, promote safe and effective feeding practices, and improve their ability to consume adequate nutrition.
Adaptive Equipment: Coordinate the acquisition and use of adaptive feeding equipment, such as specialized utensils, plates, cups, and seating devices, to facilitate our child’s feeding and promote independence and comfort during meal times.
Nutritional Guidance: Offer guidance and support to our family on meeting our child’s nutritional needs, including appropriate food textures, portion sizes, feeding schedules, and strategies to address oral motor challenges associated with cerebral palsy.
Growth Monitoring: Monitor our child’s growth and development closely, tracking weight gain, height, and developmental milestones, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure adequate nutrition and address any concerns or challenges that may arise.
Family Education: Provide education and support to our family on caring for our child with cerebral palsy, including feeding techniques, hygiene practices, positioning, and safety considerations, to promote their well-being and enhance their quality of life.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, including pediatricians, therapists, and nutritionists, to ensure coordinated care and optimize treatment strategies for promoting our child’s growth, development, and nutritional health.
Requirements:

Certification as a registered nurse with experience in pediatric nursing or developmental disabilities.
Proficiency in feeding therapy techniques for children with cerebral palsy, including knowledge of oral motor exercises, positioning techniques, and adaptive feeding equipment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and their families, providing compassionate support and guidance.
Compassion, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life for children living with developmental disabilities and their families.
