Our primary goal is to help her achieve stability, improve emotion regulation skills, and develop alternative coping mechanisms to enhance her overall quality of life.

– Facilitate individual and group DBT sessions to teach mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills to the client.
– Implement diary cards to track emotions, behaviors, and skill usage, providing feedback and reinforcement to promote skill acquisition and application in real-life situations.
– **Emotion Regulation Skills Training:**
– Conduct psychoeducation sessions to help the client understand the nature of emotions, triggers, and the role of emotional dysregulation in BPD.
– Teach adaptive emotion regulation strategies, such as identifying and labeling emotions, opposite action, and problem-solving techniques to help the client manage intense emotions more effectively.
– **Crisis Management Techniques:**
– Develop and implement safety plans tailored to the client’s individual needs and risk factors, including coping strategies, support networks, and emergency contacts.
– Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to manage acute emotional crises and prevent self-injurious behaviors, utilizing validation, empathy, and problem-solving skills to support the client in distressing situations.
– **Collaboration and Coordination:**
– Collaborate closely with the client’s mental health treatment team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists, to ensure a coordinated approach to her care.
– Communicate regularly with family members or caregivers to provide updates on the client’s progress, address concerns, and involve them in the treatment process as appropriate.
