Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our caregiving team on a contractual basis, with a focus on providing specialized care for our child living with cerebral palsy and gastrointestinal dysfunction. This role involves dietary modifications, medication management, and offering compassionate support to help him cope with the challenges associated with his condition.

Responsibilities:

Dietary Modifications: Collaborate with healthcare providers and nutritionists to develop and implement dietary modifications tailored to our child’s specific needs and digestive issues. Medication Management: Assist in managing medications prescribed for gastrointestinal dysfunction, ensuring adherence to treatment plans, monitoring for potential side effects, and adjusting dosages as needed under the guidance of healthcare providers.
Nutritional Support: Provide support and guidance to ensure our child’s nutritional needs are met despite his gastrointestinal issues. Offer education on appropriate food choices, portion sizes, meal timing, and strategies to enhance nutrient absorption and digestion.
Digestive Health Monitoring: Monitor our child’s digestive health, including symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, or diarrhea, and communicate any changes or concerns to healthcare providers for timely intervention and adjustment of treatment plans.
Family Education: Provide education and guidance to family members on understanding cerebral palsy and its impact on gastrointestinal function, managing dietary modifications, and supporting our child’s nutritional needs and digestive health at home. Offer resources and referrals to support groups or community services as needed to enhance family coping and well-being.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, including pediatricians, gastroenterologists, nutritionists, and physical therapists, to ensure coordinated care and optimize treatment strategies for managing our child’s gastrointestinal dysfunction. Requirements:

Certification as a registered nurse with experience in pediatric nursing, gastroenterology, or nutrition.
Proficiency in dietary modifications and medication management for pediatric patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction, including knowledge of specialized diets, nutritional supplements, and gastrointestinal medications.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate support to children and their families dealing with chronic health conditions.
