Project Overview:
I am looking for an experienced nurse to join our caregiving team on a contractual basis, focusing on providing comprehensive support tailored to the unique needs of my child. This role offers the opportunity for extension based on their progress and ongoing requirements.
Responsibilities:
Pain Management: Assist in managing pain associated with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, utilizing a combination of pharmacological interventions, non-pharmacological pain relief techniques, and comfort measures.
Mobility Support: Provide assistance with mobility and activities of daily living, including gentle exercises, joint mobility exercises, positioning, and mobility aids, to promote my child’s comfort and independence.
Medication Management: Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to the treatment plan and monitoring for potential side effects or adverse reactions.
Symptom Monitoring: Monitor my child’s symptoms and disease activity, including joint inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and fatigue, and communicate any changes or concerns to healthcare providers for timely intervention and management.
Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and reassurance to my child and our family, providing a safe and nurturing environment to express feelings, concerns, and fears related to their condition.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, therapists, and other members of the caregiving team to ensure coordinated care and optimize my child’s treatment plan.
Requirements:
Certification as a registered nurse with a compassionate and child-centered approach to care.
Experience or familiarity with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis management, including pain management, mobility support, and medication administration.
Proficiency in providing nursing care, including symptom management, medication management, and emotional support, to pediatric patients and their families.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and their families, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
