About the Client:
We are a supportive family seeking specialized care and support for our 30-year-old daughter who is living with chronic fatigue syndrome complicated by orthostatic intolerance. Our primary goal is to provide her with comprehensive care and support to manage her symptoms effectively, improve her function and quality of life, and promote her overall well-being and independence.
Project Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable healthcare professional with expertise in chronic fatigue syndrome and orthostatic intolerance to provide personalized care for our daughter. This project entails pacing strategies, orthostatic training, and support for managing symptoms and improving function to enhance our daughter’s well-being and quality of life.
Responsibilities:
Implement pacing strategies and activity management techniques to help our daughter conserve energy, prevent symptom exacerbation, and optimize her daily functioning and productivity.
Provide orthostatic training and support for managing orthostatic intolerance symptoms, including dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting, through gradual exposure to upright positions, hydration strategies, and physical conditioning exercises to improve cardiovascular tolerance and orthostatic stability.
Assist with symptom management and symptom relief strategies, including pharmacological interventions, dietary modifications, and lifestyle adjustments to alleviate pain, fatigue, and other debilitating symptoms associated with chronic fatigue syndrome and orthostatic intolerance.
Offer emotional support and encouragement to our daughter, addressing her concerns, frustrations, and challenges associated with living with chronic illness, and empowering her to actively participate in self-care, symptom management, and lifestyle adjustments to enhance her well-being and quality of life.
Collaborate with healthcare providers, therapists, and other support services involved in our daughter’s care, ensuring coordinated and multidisciplinary support that addresses her physical, emotional, and functional needs, while promoting her autonomy and independence.
Requirements:
Experience in chronic fatigue syndrome management and orthostatic intolerance, with a comprehensive understanding of the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and evidence-based interventions for symptom management and functional improvement in individuals living with these conditions.
Empathy, patience, and a person-centered approach to care that respects our daughter’s unique experiences, preferences, and goals for health and well-being, while fostering a collaborative and supportive caregiving relationship.
