Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our caregiving team on a contractual basis, with a focus on providing specialized care for our father living with severe COPD. This role involves respiratory care, assistance with breathing exercises, medication management, and support to optimize his respiratory function and overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

Assistance with Breathing Exercises: Provide guidance and support to our father in performing breathing exercises, including pursed-lip breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, and airway clearance techniques, to improve lung function and alleviate respiratory symptoms.
Medication Management: Assist in managing medications prescribed for COPD, including bronchodilators, corticosteroids, and other respiratory medications, ensuring adherence to treatment plans and monitoring for efficacy and potential side effects.
Symptom Monitoring: Monitor symptoms of COPD, including dyspnea, cough, sputum production, and exercise intolerance, and communicate any changes or concerns to healthcare providers for timely intervention and adjustment of treatment plans.
Family Education: Provide education and support to family members on understanding COPD, managing respiratory symptoms, assisting with breathing exercises, and promoting a healthy lifestyle to optimize our father’s respiratory function and overall well-being.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, including pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure coordinated care and optimize treatment strategies for managing COPD symptoms and promoting respiratory health and well-being.
Requirements:

Certification as a registered nurse with experience in respiratory care or pulmonary rehabilitation.
Proficiency in oxygen therapy management, including knowledge of oxygen delivery systems, oxygen saturation monitoring, and troubleshooting of equipment.
Familiarity with pulmonary rehabilitation techniques and exercise programs for individuals with COPD, and experience in coordinating rehabilitation sessions and providing patient education.
