We are seeking a multidisciplinary team of compassionate and experienced professionals to provide comprehensive care and rehabilitation support for our injured teenager. This project entails a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension based on our son’s progress and evolving needs.

Responsibilities:

Nurses:

Provide specialized care to manage health conditions associated with a C6 spinal cord injury on a 24×7 basis.
Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and follow prescribed treatments as directed by healthcare professionals.
Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, ensuring the teenager’s comfort and dignity.
Physical Therapists:

Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, strength, and coordination.
Conduct regular therapy sessions focused on enhancing physical capabilities and preventing complications.
Collaborate with other team members to adjust therapy plans based on progress and specific needs.
Occupational Therapists:

Create tailored strategies to help our son regain independence in daily activities.
Train the teenager in the use of adaptive equipment and techniques to facilitate self-care and mobility.
Support cognitive and emotional development through engaging and therapeutic activities.
Counselors/Psychologists:

Provide emotional and psychological support to help our son cope with the trauma and lifestyle changes resulting from his injury.
Offer counseling sessions to address mental health needs and promote a positive outlook on recovery.
Support the family in understanding and navigating the emotional challenges of the rehabilitation process.
Requirements:

Nurses:

Certification as a registered nurse with a minimum of 3 years of experience in spinal cord injury care.
Proficiency in managing health conditions and providing holistic care for individuals with severe injuries.
Physical Therapists:

Certification and licensure as a physical therapist with experience in spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
Expertise in developing and executing comprehensive physical therapy programs for teenagers.
Occupational Therapists:

Certification and licensure as an occupational therapist with a focus on spinal cord injuries.
Proven track record of helping patients regain independence and adapt to new challenges.
Counselors/Psychologists:

Licensed counselor or psychologist with experience in trauma and injury-related therapy.
Ability to provide empathetic support and develop strategies for emotional resilience and well-being.
General Requirements for All Team Members:

Strong understanding of spinal cord injury rehabilitation and recovery processes.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet our son’s unique needs.
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor, fostering a supportive and collaborative relationship with our family.
