Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our caregiving team on a contractual basis, with a focus on providing specialized care for our 65-year-old family member with terminal pancreatic cancer. This role involves palliative care, nutritional support, and symptom management to help him maintain comfort and quality of life during his end-of-life journey.

Responsibilities:

Palliative Care: Provide compassionate palliative care to enhance the comfort and quality of life for our family member living with terminal pancreatic cancer. Focus on addressing his physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and promoting dignity and respect throughout the end-of-life journey.
Nutritional Support: Implement nutritional support interventions to address our family member’s cachexia and anorexia and optimize his nutritional status. Collaborate with dietitians to develop personalized meal plans, provide education on calorie-dense foods and oral supplements, and monitor his nutritional intake and weight status regularly to ensure adequate nutrition and hydration.
Symptom Management: Implement comprehensive symptom management strategies to alleviate our family member’s symptoms such as pain, nausea, and fatigue. Assess symptom severity, administer appropriate medications, and utilize non-pharmacological interventions such as relaxation techniques, massage therapy, or music therapy to optimize symptom control and enhance his overall comfort and well-being.
Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and counseling to our family member and his family caregivers to help them cope with the challenges of terminal illness and end-of-life care. Provide a compassionate presence, active listening, and guidance on coping mechanisms, grief processing, and end-of-life decision-making, fostering a supportive and comforting environment for all involved.
Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, including oncologists, palliative care specialists, and hospice teams, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for our family member. Communicate regularly with the interdisciplinary team to provide updates on his condition, address concerns, and adjust care plans as needed, ensuring he receives the best possible care and support tailored to his individual needs and preferences.

Requirements:
