Medication Management: Assist in managing medications prescribed for bipolar disorder and substance use disorder, ensuring adherence to treatment plans, monitoring for potential side effects, and adjusting dosages as needed under the guidance of healthcare providers. Educate the individual and family members on proper medication administration techniques and potential interactions.
Support for Co-Occurring Issues: Offer support and guidance to address the co-occurring mental health and addiction issues, providing coping strategies, relapse prevention techniques, and resources for ongoing support. Foster a non-judgmental and supportive environment conducive to recovery and well-being.
Family Education: Provide education and guidance to family members on understanding bipolar disorder and substance use disorder, managing medications, and supporting their loved one’s recovery journey. Offer strategies for effective communication, setting boundaries, and promoting a supportive family environment.

Requirements:

Certification as a registered nurse with experience in psychiatric nursing, addiction treatment, or dual diagnosis care.
